The project is a 46 square metre "old and dilapidated" renovation in an old community in the centre of Nanjing, where the combination of internal zigzagging paths and elevation differences in the narrow space brings the interest of a garden-like zigzagging. The design respects and preserves the characteristics of the original site's external environment, blurring the relationship between inside and outside by using windows with different opening scales as well as internal holes, and ultimately presenting a spatial intention of both division and continuity in each functional area, with the body moving internally, up and down, bringing the occupants an excursion-style living experience.

The result is a perfect integration of people, housing and nature.

This project is also our exploration and practice of the future urban dwelling lifestyle.
